To do something with love passion and a lot of soul!

AMo

Lover of too many things

I am an artist, IT project manager, landscaper and sewist. My life teachers are Nature and my late Grandmother. I might become skeptical of you if you go against either of those teachers! I have lived in many parts of the United States from Michigan, Georgia, West Virginia, Bay Area California and now Utah. Utah is where I have found many forms of healing that have improved my quality of life physically, mentally and spiritually. So incredible to have found a one-stop shop here in Utah! A wonderful OB/Gyn removed endometriosis, an amazing therapist walks with me through EMDR and brutally hard lessons and a very skilled acupuncturist helped crack open my mind to receive synchronicities, life purpose and some spiritual tools. I have 3 rabbits, 2 dogs and too many plants. I love most everything and people so immensely it hurts.

Why Art?

I turned to art at a young age to express myself and complex emotions that often times I don’t have words for. I do enjoy writing poetry/prose but, there is something about the visual arts that provide a sense of peace. I will be putting the two together at some point. I use a variety of media to express exactly what I am feeling, whether its ink, watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic or fabric. I have always been an artists and crafter and my family encouraged me to make things for a wider audience. My younger siblings and I share this website and support one another in our artistic pursuits.

Open Studio

Meraki Journeys will host Open Studios in order to cultivate freedom of expression and exchange of ideas in a supportive, peaceful and joyful environment. Open Studio is for those who need to create in order to discover themselves, who need to create to address or think through wounds, anxieties, fears. It is for the non-artist who simply wants to be around others that create. Art is for everyone. I want to provide a space that all ages and skills are welcome to start the journey of creating art for healing.
